چکیده

Although blood flows are mostly laminar, transition to turbulence and flow separations observed at curved vessels, bifurcations, or constrictions. It is known that wall-shear stress plays an important role in the development of atherosclerosis as well arteriovenous grafts. In order help understand behavior separation post-stenotic flows, experimental study transitional pulsatile with stenosis was carried out using time-resolved particle image velocimetry a microelectromechanical systems sensor mean Reynolds number 1750 Womersley 6.15. At start cycle, strong shear layer develops from tip stenosis, increasing region. The throat always laminar due acceleration, which quickly becomes turbulent through shear-layer instability under adverse pressure gradient. same time, recirculation region appears over wall opposite moving downstream sync movement reattachment point. These behaviors two-dimensional channel very similar results obtained previously pipe flow. We also found pulsating during acceleration phase both 25% 50% cases steady flow, including location size regions. This because peak investigated. more dominant for compared wavelet spectra show greater broadening energy. With increase 75%, accelerating directed toward wall, creating jet. bifurcates result this, one upper other jet bottom wall. Low fluctuations two locations – immediately top (stenosis side) inside region, on (opposite side stenosis).

Hybrid free-surface flows in a two-dimensional channel.

Hybrid free-surface flows past disturbances in a two-dimensional channel are identified and studied. The fluid is assumed to be inviscid and incompressible, and the flow to be steady and irrotational. The disturbances consist of a step in the bottom of the channel and a flat object lying on the free-surface (e.g., a sluice gate). A weakly nonlinear one-dimensional analysis is used to classify t...

A Novel Structure for Optical Channel Drop Filter using Two-Dimensional Photonic Crystals with Square Lattice

In the present paper a novel structure for optical channel drop filter (CDF) based on photonic crystal ring resonator with circular core has been proposed. In order to design the proposed CDF, the plan wave expansion (PWE) method is applied for calculation of band structure and photonic band gap while the transmission characteristics of proposed CDF have been calculated using the finite differe...

Three-Dimensional Instabilities and Transition in Pulsatile Stenotic Flows

A straight tube with a smooth axisymmetric constriction is an idealised representation of a stenosed artery. We examine the three-dimensional instability of steady flow plus an oscillatory component in a tube with a smooth 75% stenosis using both linear stability analysis and direct numerical simulation. These flows become unstable through a subcritical period-doubling bifurcation involving alt...
